Remember the human side of charity. The Pope declared in one of his first encyclicals that charity should not be come merely a "social service" to be "delivered" by professionals. People are more than their problems.

Pope Benedict makes an excellent point. It is easy to think only in terms of problems and completely lose awareness of the people affected.
